It is essential for each church to have a set of current Bylaws.
Bylaws become the governing constitution of the legal operation of the church.
Each church should have duly ratified Articles of Faith. This is the governing document to establish and control the doctrinal positions taught and practiced in the church.
The law requires that each church have at least one business meeting each year. It is recommended that this annual business meeting be conducted within 90 days of the beginning of each fiscal year.
Bylaws will define the number, qualifications, ratification process as well as the perimeters of the responsibilities of the Board of Directors. Every church should have a Board of Directors.
There are a number of resolutions that every church is required to have duly ratified and in place.
Every church must have a current Roster Roll listing the names of all certified voting members. There must be guidelines in the Bylaws that define how a person becomes a member, the qualifications, obligations and how a person’s membership may be revoked.
